Imagine
our surprise when in October 2005 we found out that a CD of unsigned
tracks was available on the market entitled Emile Ford Double
CD Collection released in Sweden on Riverside Records (RRCD2108).
Further more the first 14 tracks were taken from material which
was for research purposes only and not intended for release. These
stolen tracks have been produced in a substandard format and undermine
Emile Ford's Recording ability. The multi-track masters are in
his possession. The preparation of these tracks starting in 1975
was over Ģ50,000
The fourteen tracks were intended to supplement Emile's retirement
and were due for possible release. As Riverside Records released
the album in 2000, any impact has now been lost. Below is the
response from Riverside Records giving their Explanation of how
the tracks came to be released.
Thank you for your fax regarding Emile Ford.
We released the album in 2000 after searching for Mr. Emile Ford
in two years on different addresses and earlier telephone numbers
without result. In fact we used the master tape that Emile Ford
himself handed over to Mrs. Carola Lundstrom in late 70-ies, but
itīs a long complicatd story to tell and I am only writing to
give you an answer that I have received your fax and will get
back to you during the week after looking over sales and royalty
due, etc.

Emile has the ability to go into any studio and perform better
than any engineer in their own studio. Because of this he has
been banned from every studio he has ever worked in because he
causes embarrassment and resentment. The industry have been trying
to destroy him ever since he embarrassed them in 1959/1960 by
producing his own record which then became Britain's first million
selling single which has remained unsigned to this day because
the group were underage so no royalties have ever been paid. Everything
Emile has recorded has been confiscated and released on the Pye
and Piccadilly (Castle/Sanctuary) label until now with this new
album. Enough is enough!! |
