Thank you for your reply but you appear to be missing the point.  The fourteen tracks were stolen - they have never been assigned and there was
no contract therefore you are in possession of stolen property for which I fail to understand how you can deny your responsibility.  You certainly do
not have the master copy.  For your information Emile Ford has never met Carola Lundstrom and would certainly never have handed over unfinished
work to be released.  You can a/b against the samples on our website which are not in their final form due to the corruption with downloads, but give
enough evidence to verify that you have undermined Emile Ford's ability.

Emile ford came to Great Britain as a sound engineer not as a singer and formed his band The Checkmates for the sole purpose of experimenting
and perfecting his abilities.  He personally produced the hit single "What Do You Want To Make Those Eyes At Me For"  which became Britain's first
million selling single.  It became the first single by a mixed race group to sell a million and Emile Ford was the first artist to produce his own first hit
record.  There is no way Emile Ford would have released substandard recordings on to the market.

With regards to the Swedisc material this was a promotional two year deal for exclusive release in the Department Stores in Sweden and not for
general release.   The tracks 13-27 were all home made recordings especially for promotion through the Department Stores in Sweden. The
other tracks on the CD are also unassigned without a contract and contain recordings with The Big Six (a Scottish band) and  the Checkmates which
you have not publicised on the album cover and which could only have come from Sanctuary.

Further I would like to know to what you are inferring regarding your comment "I also found out that there were other circumstances re. Emile Ford which I will not
mention in this mail."  Anything you have to say will be noted placed on our website.

I would like to remind you that Emile's family in Sweden have tried to make contact several times and he also appeared on Swedish Television in 1990 in
Gothenburg and 2004 in Stockholm and no contact was made by you or your Company

Emile Ford would be happy to meet you in Sweden (full expenses to be covered by you) to avoid a lengthy settlement.

I await your reply.

Thank you for your letter.
Let me start to explain the background on these fourteen tracks:
1981 I started a record label together with Hans Larsson, former RCA, Sweden. We bought the Swedisc label from Roland Ferneborg in 1982 and started to re-release material from the catalogue. At that time Mr. Ferneborg was in contact with Mrs. Carola Lundström (former employed at the Swedisc Record Company) who was asked by Emile Ford if we were interested to release the album as a master deal.
At that moment we were very buissy with new releases on our record company (Mill Records) so we did not have the time to release it then, she brought us the master tape and a cassette copy and we had no reason to not beleive the rightness. Mrs. Lundström was the one that had contact with Emile Ford on the earlier released albums on Swedisc and there was nothing mentioned about money for her - and she has never received anything for it either.
Later, me and my partner sold Mill Records, Rival & Swedisc to BMG Sweden and worked there as A & R´s in 5 years. As I launched the new label Riverside Records, I started to search for the tape and found it again in 1998. At that time we were searching for Emile Ford through magazines, studios in US and England without succeding, we also talked to his son in Helsingborg who had not heard anything for several years. I also found out that there were other circumstances re. Emile Ford which I will not mention in this mail.
Together with Roland Ferneborg we decided to release a double cd containing all the Swedisc material and save the royalty for 1/4, the other 3/4 statement of accounts will be payed by SonyBMG, Sweden.
I don´t know if you have been in contact with SonyBMG, but I will check that tomorrow and also that you ARE representing Mr. Emile Ford.

The cd has not sold much, without looking through the books I estimate it is around 1.000 as we printed that much sleeves.
If Mr. Emile Ford want us to stop selling the cd, we will do that and bring back the master to him. If he still should be interested that we sell the cd after changing to the re-mastered recordings, we can agree to that.

So, there is no thief who has earned any money on the recordings and we have reserved his part of royalty.

I will get back to you during Monday!

With Kind Regards

Owe Midner
